RESEARCH STANDARDS

Sources first.
Status matters.

Our methodology is designed to help readers separate binding law from proposals, agency commentary and industry positions.

THE WORKFLOW

From primary source to usable intelligence.

1

Find

Locate original publications from official regulators, governments, legislatures, statutory registers and recognised industry bodies.

2

Verify

Check issuer, date, jurisdiction, applicability and whether the document remains operative or has been superseded.

3

Classify

Label the item as enacted law, live rule, guidance/interpretation, proposal/consultation, legislative step or industry analysis.

4

Summarise

Describe the development in clear language, identify activities potentially affected and link back to the originating publication.

5

Review

Use editorial review before publishing or materially revising significant regulatory claims. Automation assists with drafting, not factual accountability.

6

Correct

Review requests for correction and update source links or labels when new official information supersedes earlier material.

REGULATORY STATUS LABELS

Our publication labels

Enacted law / current rule

Binding material where applicability and commencement have been checked. A law may be enacted before particular provisions enter into effect.

Agency guidance / interpretation

A regulator's published view or interpretation. Guidance is not automatically the same as a legislative requirement.

Proposal / consultation

An invitation or draft; not presented as an operative obligation unless and until formally adopted.

Legislative progress

Bills, hearings, votes and parliamentary actions are identified by procedural stage, not assumed to be enacted law.

Industry commentary

Positions and research from trade associations such as the Futures Industry Association (FIA), which is not a regulator.

SCOPE & LIMITATIONS

What our research does — and doesn't — do

OrbiSignal focuses initially on UK and US digital-asset and financial-markets developments. We do not claim exhaustive monitoring of every announcement, full coverage of state-by-state US requirements, or continuously verified individual legal conclusions.

Webpages may contain date-specific research snapshots rather than continuous real-time monitoring. Readers should check original sources and obtain qualified advice before relying on information for a specific licensing, compliance or commercial decision.

Independent editorial judgement applies to selection and presentation; we do not accept payment to mislabel regulatory status. If sponsored content or commercial relationships are introduced, we intend to label them.
